BETWEEN SESSIONS

Therapy at Bare Psychology takes place within scheduled appointments. The time between appointments is also an important part of therapy. It's the space to notice, reflect and apply what you are working on in sessions in your everyday life.

This page explains what you can expect between appointments, how to contact Bare Psychology, and what to do if you need support before your next session.

Between your appointments

Depending on what you're working on, Amy may suggest things to practise or experiment with between sessions. At other times, there may be nothing particular you need to "do."

If something comes up that you'd like to explore in therapy, you may find it helpful to make a note of it and bring it to your next appointment.

Psychological therapy at Bare Psychology is one part of your broader care and support system. Between appointments, you can continue to draw on your existing healthcare professionals, personal supports, resources and strategies as needed.

When Amy is away

Like all health professionals, Amy takes regular leave and may also be unavailable due to illness, professional development or other circumstances. Planned periods of leave are a normal part of how Bare Psychology operates. Where possible, Amy will let you know about upcoming leave in advance so that appointments can be scheduled around it.

During designated periods of leave, appointments are not available and emails are not monitored.

Where your existing care plan remains appropriate, appointments will resume when Amy returns.

Sometimes circumstances or care needs change and a longer gap between appointments may not be appropriate. If you're feeling unsure or concerned about an upcoming break, please raise it with Amy ahead of time so you can think it through together.

Your broader care and urgent support

There may be times when you would like or need support before you are due to see Amy again.

Depending on what you need, you can contact your GP, another member of your existing healthcare or support team, or an appropriate health or mental health service in your area, for example, Lifeline (13 11 14) or the Suicide Call Back Service (1300 659 467).

Bare Psychology does not provide an emergency or crisis response service.

If you or another person is in immediate danger, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.
